ZOE (greek for life) is a visual impression of the people and places that I encountered, wandering the streets of Greece. The result of this exploration is a short photographic journey from the tranquil Island villages to the bustling mainland cities. The landscape of clear cyan blue seas and rocky arid soils has a genuine beauty and warmth that is reflected in daily life. The streets, private homes, tourist destinations and everyday places are featured in the photographs. The well known Cities of Athens, Nafplio, Santorini are presented from an alternative view point. Quieter places like Argos and Oropos represent the village life of the local people and the traditional slower pace. Mundane, everyday things are not overlooked and the small pieces present a clearer picture of the whole. Traditions of ancient and modern Greece are visible in the scenes where everyday life takes place. Behind the superficial exterior lies the simple beauty of truth, reality of life as it is.
