Indra - India

Indra is a collection of images taken throughout amazing, spiritual and undefinable India. I was very lucky to visit five main areas, New Delhi, Dharamsala, Benares, Sarnath and Bodh Gaya. These places are of very high significance to Buddhist pilgrims who travel from all over the world to visit significant sites.
Dharamsala, His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama and the Tibetan Refugee community currently reside here. It is situated in the North of the country, in the lower Himalayas. Trekking for even a few days in the mountains leaves one in awe of the natural beauty. The locals live in small villages or as nomadic mountain shepherds and are warm and inquisitive.
Benares and Sarnath are where the Buddha first expounded his teachings.
Bodh Gaya is the site where he sat under the bodhi tree and gained enlightenment.
Delhi is busy, chaotic and fascinating. A mix of old and new, rich and poor mingled in together.
The series was taken with a Leica M3 and 50mm Lens.
