46 imagesIndra is a collection of images taken throughout amazing, spiritual and undefinable India. I was very lucky to visit five main areas, New Delhi, Dharamsala, Benares, Sarnath and Bodh Gaya. These places are of very high significance to Buddhist pilgrims who travel from all over the world to visit significant sites. Dharamsala, His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama and the Tibetan Refugee community currently reside here. It is situated in the North of the country, in the lower Himalayas. Trekking for even a few days in the mountains leaves one in awe of the natural beauty. The locals live in small villages or as nomadic mountain shepherds and are warm and inquisitive. Benares and Sarnath are where the Buddha first expounded his teachings. Bodh Gaya is the site where he sat under the bodhi tree and gained enlightenment. Delhi is busy, chaotic and fascinating. A mix of old and new, rich and poor mingled in together. The series was taken with a Leica M3 and 50mm Lens.

41 imagesZOE (greek for life) is a visual impression of the people and places that I encountered, wandering the streets of Greece. The result of this exploration is a short photographic journey from the tranquil Island villages to the bustling mainland cities. The landscape of clear cyan blue seas and rocky arid soils has a genuine beauty and warmth that is reflected in daily life. The streets, private homes, tourist destinations and everyday places are featured in the photographs. The well known Cities of Athens, Nafplio, Santorini are presented from an alternative view point. Quieter places like Argos and Oropos represent the village life of the local people and the traditional slower pace. Mundane, everyday things are not overlooked and the small pieces present a clearer picture of the whole. Traditions of ancient and modern Greece are visible in the scenes where everyday life takes place. Behind the superficial exterior lies the simple beauty of truth, reality of life as it is.

34 images"Whatever is subject to origination [samudaya] is subject to cessation" [nirodha] (MN 56). Anicca (Impermanence) is a collection of travel photography capturing some everyday life in Thailand. The Buddha taught there are three aspects of existence: impermanence, interconnection and no-self. The mind complex and physical matter are in a state of constant change. Any experience, sensation or object cannot be retained despite our best efforts. Our bodies will eventually age and die, and our thoughts are fleeting. Meeting new people and coming together, for better or worse, must end in parting. Possessions will wear out or break. The taste of new and exotic food and drink will soon fade away. The notion of impermanence frequently occurred as I travelled around Thailand. From the busy metropolis of Bangkok to the quiet rural towns in the North East the ongoing life cycle continues. Chiang Mai is a city with a rich history. Temples, or Wats, continue today as they have for hundreds of years. Ornate carvings, ceremonies and traditional craft techniques are practiced with skill and devotion. Ayutthaya, the ancient capital city before Bangkok, exhibits scars of past violent battles and the fall of kings in the ruins of splendid buildings. Here is verification of the fleeting nature of every endeavour, dynasty or construction. Anicca ( Impermanence ) should be understood or realised.
